琵琶湖にたまりし、くに中の

Tens of millions of sorrows from across the country
Swallowed by a dragon.
Deep within Mount Fuji’s heart,
The dragon breathed in the outrage of tens of millions.
The mercy of dragon tears.
While waiting in the womb,
Don’t let the fires go cold.
The mercy of dragon fire.

Until the tears become dry.
The dragon’s energy rises.
The dragon awakens,
To see the bright smiles,
Of the people living inside.
From hands, mouths, hearts,
eyes, ears, and you.

墨書体験『龍の体にスミツイタ』
「モノガタリの行方」の詩を読み、浮かんできたメッセージを、立体の龍の形のキャンバスに墨で書く体験をしてもらいました。龍は日本列島に対応するように、四つのパーツに分かれています。
多面的なキャンバスに多くの人が書くことで無数のモノの見方があることを暗喩しています。
Part 1
Japanese calligraphy experience “writing on the dragon’s body.”
Participants read the poem “Rebirth” and wrote the message that came to their mind on a three-dimensional canvas in the shape of a dragon. The dragon is divided into four parts corresponding to the Japanese archipelago. This showed that there are countless ways of looking at things when many people write on a multifaceted canvas.

LIVE揮毫『春夏秋冬』
日本は「言霊の幸ふ国」と言われています。言葉の霊力が幸福をもたらす国を意味します。春夏秋冬を感じる言霊を音霊と共鳴しながら龍にLIVEで祈るように書きます。
Part 2
Live writing “The Four Seasons.”
Japan is said to be Kotodama sakiwau kuni, meaning a country where the spiritual power of words brings happiness. I write as if I am praying to a dragon with words that resonate with the spirit of sound and the four seasons.

会場を市街地から山間部に移して、龍の体に松葉で造形して演奏と共に龍の体に点火。
Part 3
We moved the site from the city center to a mountainous area where we sculpted the dragon’s body with pine needles and then lighted the dragon’s body.
書に込めた祈りが昇華し、天高く舞い昇った。龍の頭部の燃えた跡には、新しい生命の息吹を感じる胎児がいるようでした。
The prayers put into the calligraphy burned and soared high into the sky. In the charred remains of the dragon’s head, there seemed to be the birth of the breath of new life.
第四部
昇華した龍の焼け跡から集めた木炭や紙、書作品を制作する過程で生まれた墨のついた画仙紙などで造形。日本神話に出てくる霊鳥、八咫烏（やたがらす）をモチーフにしています。焼け跡が黒く、その中からくちばしのような破片や翼のような破片を見つけたので、八咫烏の形に生まれ変わらせようと思いました。龍の創作のためのヒントを求めて那智の滝という滝に行きましたが、そこに祀られてあったのがちょうど八咫烏であったことと関係しています。八咫烏は三本の足があったと伝承されていて、神武天皇の道案内をしたという伝説が残っており、太陽の化身であると言われています。私の芸術活動は、書いた詩が偶然に翼の形になったことがきっかけで始まっていること、私の作品は「詩」と「書」と「形」の３つの要素から成り立っていることが繋がり、八咫烏の作品が生まれました。
Part 4
I used charcoal and papers collected from the burnt remains of the dragons and inked Xuan or rice papers from the process of making calligraphy works. The theme of this work is Yatagarasu, a sacred bird in Japanese mythology. The burned remains were black, and among them, I found fragments that looked like beaks and wings, so I decided to reincarnate them in the form of the Yatagarasu.
I went to a waterfall called Nachi-no-taki in search of hints to create the dragon, and Yatagarasu was enshrined there. An oral legend says that Yatagarasu had three legs and guided Emperor Jinmu (660 B.C) and is said to be an incarnation of the sun.
My artistic activities started when a poem I wrote accidentally took the shape of a wing. My work consists of three elements: poetry, calligraphy, and form, which also led me to create the Yatagarasu this time.
